Wellness Champions
The URWell Employee Wellness Champions team is made up of engaged employees at the university. Wellness Champions work to embody a holistic approach to well-being and engage the campus community in promoting, developing, and encouraging this concept to others. Each Champion also promotes and communicates health and well-being programs, education, and provides program feedback and evaluation. By being actively engaged in this process, Champions have a direct impact on the UR Well Employee initiative at the University of Richmond.
Responsibilities of Wellness Champions
- Communicate and share the vision and mission of UR Well Employee with employees across campus
- Commit to actively participating in making the initiatives and programs offered by UR Well Employee successful
- Serve as a role model for healthy living in both home and work environments by promoting a culture of well-being
- Support a team environment, encourage employee involvement and strive for continued improvement of their health and the health of their colleagues
- Promote health and well-being initiatives on campus and in the community, and encourage employees to become involved
- Help distribute well-being information to employees
- Act as the liaison by communicating well-being initiatives and programs, refer employees to available resources and communicate inquiries with the Director of Health Promotion
- Make recommendations for existing and future programs based on feedback from the campus community
- Make announcements about the program and upcoming events at employee or departmental meetings
- Serve as an advocate for the UR Well Employee initiative and support, encourage, and assist in the development of future growth
