Staff & Faculty Affinity Groups
About UR Affinity Groups
UR Affinity Groups are organizationally supported, employee-led groups that focus on shared characteristics, identities, or life experiences. Affinity Groups create a more inclusive UR community by providing an opportunity for faculty and staff to build social connections, give and receive mentorship, and engage in networking and self-advocacy. Affinity Groups encourage the exchange of ideas; promote respect, kindness, and belonging; and enhance career and personal development of faculty and staff.
Guiding Principles
- The primary goal of UR Affinity Groups is to promote belonging, inclusivity, and community among staff and faculty.
- UR Affinity groups are open to all staff and faculty and participation is completely voluntary.
- Affinity Groups must adhere to the University of Richmond’s policies and practices.
