    • Faculty and staff are able to reserve Cannon Memorial Chapel for weddings. The rental rate is dependent on affiliation to the University. If you are interested in scheduling a wedding ceremony at the Cannon Memorial Chapel, begin your correspondence by completing the Wedding Ceremony Interest Form.
    • Full-time faculty and staff members can purchase a niche or scattering location in the University’s Columbarium & Memorial Garden at a discounted rate.
  • URWELL Employee

    URWELL Employee is the partnership between Human Resources & Health Promotion.

    Perks/Discounts:

    A free membership to the Weinstein Center for Recreation (dependents included) for all full-time employees.

    • This includes:
      • Fitness assessments (BMI, Body Fat Analysis) offered by appointment
      • Group fitness classes
      • Personal training sessions: $30 sessions with community trainers
      • Outdoor Adventure and Recreation trips at discounted cost
      • Equipment Rental: Daily and Weekend rentals for outdoor equipment
      • Working on Wellness Program (WOW): New employees have three free sessions with personal trainers with follow-up sessions at 6, 9, and 12-month marks

    Membership Subsidy Program

    • The Membership Subsidy Program is the result of a generous gift from a member who wanted to help subsidize the cost of the Weinstein Center memberships for people who may need financial assistance.

    How to obtain: If interested, please view and complete the Membership Subsidy Request Form for guidelines and then submit to the Member Services desk for consideration.

    • Health Advocate: A free service available to all full-time employees, their spouses, dependent children up to age 23, parents, and parents-in-law. Health Advocate can provide no-charge assistance in solving your healthcare-related issues. You will be assigned a Personal Health Advocate (PHA) who will work with you one-on-one to find solutions to time-consuming issues such as billing concerns, scheduling specialized treatments, transferring medical records, finding eldercare, Social Security questions, and more. To take advantage of this service, call Health Advocate directly at 1-866-695-8622 or visit their member website.
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): A free, confidential service that provides all employees and anyone living in their household with the resources needed to resolve personal problems that may affect their emotional health, well-being, and work productivity.
  • Information Services

    Perks/Discounts:

    The Information Services Help Desk provides support and troubleshooting for faculty and staff personally owned computers and mobile devices. This work is free of charge but is done on an “as available” basis. During certain times of the academic year, the Help Desk may elect not to work on faculty and staff personally owned computers and mobile devices because of priorities associated with other University calendar and commitments.

    Faculty and staff that wish to purchase new computer hardware at Education discount rates may visit Computers & Tablets at JourneyEd to explore options available. This site includes information for both the PC and Mac platforms. Upon retirement Faculty and Staff are eligible to purchase their University of Richmond computer, provided the position warranted a computer.

  • Modlin Center

    Perk/Discount: Discounts are available for University of Richmond employees and students (undergraduate, law, graduate, and continuing studies) for Modlin Center performances on campus and at Modlin Downtown events. Employees may purchase up to four tickets at the discounted rate.

    How to obtain: Ticket purchasing can be done on the Modlin Center’s website. Please note your University affiliation when placing your ticket order. Refunds will not be issued after the sale is finalized. If ticket orders are placed online, tickets may be held for verification. Employees will be required to present their valid UR ID to pick up tickets.

  • Police Department

    Perks/Discounts:

    • Vehicle Safety Day: Once a semester, the University of Richmond Police Department conducts a vehicle safety day, when students, faculty, and staff can have a safety check of their vehicle conducted for free. The safety day usually includes free pizza, drinks, and coupons for area establishments. Services include tire pressure check, vehicle fluids check, and a vehicle lights check. URPD will also assist stranded motorists who need a jump start. Call the URPD Emergency Communications center at (804) 289-8715 for assistance.
    • Finger Prints: The University of Richmond Police Department offers this service free of charge to all faculty, staff, and students. Fingerprinting is done Monday through Friday, from 9:00–11:00 a.m., and 1:00–3:00 p.m. at the Police Department. Call (804) 289-8715 with any questions.
    • Operation ID: Operation ID is a theft prevention program that involves marking and/or engraving property which allows law enforcement to detect, identify, and return stolen or lost property to its rightful owner. To have your personal property marked, please email police@richmond.edu. You may also register your property by filling out and submitting a Operation ID form.
    • Women’s Self Defense Instruction: The Women’s Basic Self Defense class is a beginner-level course instructed by University of Richmond police officers. The two-hour class demonstrates physical techniques, including stances, strikes, kicks, and pressure points, as well as techniques to escape from wrist grabs, bear hugs, and chokeholds.   • Print Shop

    Perk/Discount: For personal projects, check with our UR Print Shop for ideas and to see available options. Full color posters, signs, personal invitations, announcements, photos, and most anything you might want is available for your personal or outside group’s needs.

  • Sustainability

    Perks/Discounts:

    • Community garden plots are available to University students, faculty, and staff. If you are interested in participating, please email sustainability@richmond.edu for information. Gardeners can use the plots for free and are selected via a lottery each spring. The Community Garden is closed during 2019 while updates and improvements are made, but will reopen in 2020.
    • Big Yard Sale: The Big Yard Sale is a two-day sale event of gently used student items (e.g., furniture, clothing, household items, etc.), which are collected by volunteers during move-out week. Proceeds go to The Falls of the James Sierra Club Group, sustainability student groups on campus, and the annual Custodial Appreciation lunch. Individuals with University of Richmond identification and their family members can attend the preview sale on the evening prior to opening to the public.
    • E-Waste Recycling Collection Event: This event is for University faculty, staff, and students to dispose of their personally owned electronic assets. Bring your old computers, printers, and accessories, phones, TVs, and other electronics ready for disposal. Staff will be available to help unload your vehicle. This event is held every Spring and also includes document shredding.
    • University of Richmond Office Supply Exchange (UROSE): UROSE allows offices to donate surplus supplies in exchange for free supplies donated by other offices. With this popular exchange program, offices reduce waste while saving money and space. Hours are announced through Spiderbytes and posted on the University calender. On these dates, Puryear 114 will be open for browsing, shopping, and donation drops.
  • Transportation

    Perks/Discounts:

    • GRTC Bus Pass: GRTC Bus-16 services campus from 5-9am and 3-7pm (full schedules are available on GRTC’s site). The University sponsors fare-free transportation to and from work (all swipes are monitored by the Transportation Services). Bus passes are valid for the entire academic year (with renewal required each August). Learn more here.
    • UR Buses and Shuttles: Full routes and schedules are available here.
    • Bike Registration: Register your bike with UR Transportation Services. They will have your bike information on file in the event that your bike is lost or stolen. Bikes can also be transported on University Shuttles and GRTC buses.
    • Chartered Services: UR Transportation Services can provide a 12-passenger shuttle for class trips and special events for $15/hour with a four hour minimum. For larger groups, see the preferred vendor list at transportation.richmond.edu. Submit a transportation request form at least 1-2 weeks before your event. Learn more.
    • Special Events: UR Transportation Services hosts a number of special events that faculty/staff are welcome to attend. Events include First Fridays, Spider Mall Crawl (Short Pump Mall Friday/Saturday), Folk Festival, 2nd Street Festival, Pony Pastures & Maymont Park, Halloween Haunt, and Ashland Berry Farm.
    • Zip Car: Zipcar is a ride sharing/rental car program. Begin by registering online at transportation.richmond.edu/zipcar to set up your own account. University of Richmond has five Zipcars on campus.
