Medical Reimbursement FSA

Dependent Care and Medical Flexible Spending Accounts will be administered by WEX effective Jan. 1, 2023. There will be a brief blackout period from January 1 – 13, 2023. During this time, any 2022 balances will be rolled over to WEX and will not be available for reimbursement. If you have receipts you have not filed, you may wish to do so before December 31, 2022.

The University's Medical Reimbursement Account (FSA), administered by WEX Benefits, is available for qualifying medical, dental, and vision expenses incurred by you and your eligible dependents (cannot participate in this account if enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan).

You may also choose to participate in a Dependent Care FSA. You may participate in the Dependent Care FSA even if you are enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan.

The money you save in a FSA can be used to pay for qualified benefits pre-tax, rather than with after tax dollars. Therefore, you will pay less in taxes and have more spendable income for health care related costs.

  • Annual max for 2023: $3,050
  • May roll over $610 unused funds from 2023 to following calendar year
  • Enroll for calendar year - changes may only be made with status change
  • Must re-enroll each calendar year

Participants in the Medical Reimbursement FSA will receive a debit card.
