Medical Account
The University's Medical Reimbursement Account (FSA), administered by WEX Benefits, is available for qualifying medical, dental, and vision expenses incurred by you and your eligible dependents (cannot participate in this account if enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan).
You may also choose to participate in a Dependent Care FSA. You may participate in the Dependent Care FSA even if you are enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan.
The money you save in a FSA can be used to pay for qualified benefits pre-tax, rather than with after tax dollars. Therefore, you will pay less in taxes and have more spendable income for health care related costs.
- Allows employees who are not enrolled in an HDHP or contributing to an HSA to pay for certain IRS-approved medical care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
- The annual maximum contribution of $3,050 can be used for eligible health care related expenses, including medical, dental and vision expenses.
- There is a $610 carryover for 2023.
- Services must be incurred between January 1 and December 31 of each respective year.
- All claims must be submitted by March 31 of the following year.
Participants in the Medical Reimbursement FSA will receive a debit card.
