The deadline to withdrawal from camps without penalty is Friday, April 26. See full cancellation policy below. Due to the limited capacity and popularity of these camps, we ask that you do not register your dependent for a week of camp if they are not able to participate for the full week.

2024 Summer Camps with Little Scholars

2024 Summer Camp registration opened on Monday, February 12 at 8:00 a.m. and closed on Wednesday, February 21 at 5:00 p.m. Acceptance was first-come, first-serve based on the time of registration.

In order to expedite your registration:

  • Employee's eligible dependents must be verified and listed in the WEX Benefits Portal by the end of registration on Wednesday, February 21 to avoid removal from the camp/class. Enrollment will not be processed without the required documentation.  
  • Acceptance is immediate until classes are full. Once a class is full, your dependent will be placed on a waitlist for that week/class and you will be notified if space opens up.
  • Little Scholars manages camp registration. Any questions regarding waitlist status or camp registration should be directed to Nicole Brown at Little Scholars.

    Rising K - 2nd Nature Explorers
    Get ready to leap into the fascinating world of nature, insects, and outdoor exploration. Nature Explorers perfect blend of outdoor fun, hands-on learning, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Discover and explore through science experiments and hands-on creative activities, all in the name of nature!

    Rising 3rd-6th Journey Through the Rainforest
    Did you know 6% of the earth is covered by rainforests? Slither with us through this diverse ecosystem as we explore the rainforest’s animals, creatures, and unique environment! Conduct experiments and create crafts focused on life in and below the canopy.

    Rising K-2nd Mini Med
    Is there a doctor around? Mini Med School is coming your way! Our little doctors will learn the ins and out of the fascinating world of medicine. Grab your doctor bag and learn all about what doctors, dentists, vets, and other medical providers do to make our world a better place.

    Rising 3rd-6th O.W.L.
    We give a hoot about YOU! Let’s learn how to live our best! In Optimal Wellness for Life (aka O.W.L), we will combine the fun of fitness, the benefits of healthy living, and the advantages of wellness activities to inspire you to create a balanced day. Learn how to connect these areas to make positive changes. Make yourself an O.W.L!

  • July 8 - 12 · Inventors Week

    Rising K Creative Builders
    Bang, Bang, Build, Build…is building things your jam? Construct some awesome creations with us using interlocking building blocks and many other interesting items. Learn the importance of communication, problem- solving, creativity, and teamwork, just like real engineers.

    Rising 1st-6th Builders
    Calling all inventors, creators, builders, and designers! Come build some awesome creations with us! We will create our own designs and make structures using recyclable materials, building blocks, and many other interesting items. Skills necessary… none! Skills gained: communication, problem solving, reasoning, developing creativity, and teamwork.

     

  • July 15 - 19 · Creativity & Imagination

    Rising K Art Safari
    We are going to take a safari around the world! Visit a new country each lesson and learn about animals native to that location with a sprinkle of literature, dabble of games, and a whole lot of art. Grab your passport and discover the thrill of the hunt!

    Rising 1st-2nd Up Cycled Art
    Up Cycle ‘trash’ and recyclable materials into creative creations such as murals, decorative containers, and wearable art. Let your creativity run wild, dream big, and help the environment along with way as you stretch your artsy side.

    Rising 3rd-6th Art-chitects
    In this camp, kids will learn the basics of architecture, including drawing, designing, and creating structures and buildings. Design the home of your dreams, discover the inspiration for famous buildings and bridges, and plan a new roller coaster for your favorite theme park. Unleash your inner art-chitect with us.

  • July 22 - 26 · Comics

    Rising K Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes
    Get your body moving with active songs, processed art, learning games, and creative play, all designed to strengthen the core muscles and motor planning skills used for fine motor activities. We will learn correct letter and number formation, pencil grip, and scissor skills as we use our Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes!

    Rising 1st-6th Comics
    What happens when drawing and creative writing collide? COMIC CREATIONS! Delve into the world of comics as you explore different comic styles, create a signature character, develop a unique cartoon style, design a comic book, and build a portfolio of comics. Sharpen your pencil and ignite your creative juices with us!

  • July 29 - August 2 · Science Adventures

    Rising K-4th Dino Discovery
    Take an adventure back to the Jurassic Era, where we will learn about dinosaurs who roamed the Earth millions of years ago. Uncover fascinating dinosaur facts and explore the world of dinosaurs in Dinosaur Discovery. You will become a paleontologist faster than Ornithomimids running from T-Rex!

    Rising 5th-6th Extreme Animals
    What is the most dangerous animal on earth? What is the weirdest animal adaptation? What creature is resistant to venom? We’ll find out all of this and more as we learn about the world’s most extreme animals. Students will build their science and language skills and they will debate and conduct experiments regarding these crazy creatures.

  • August 5 - 9 · Olympic Fun

    Rising K Olympic Fun Bunch
    Carry the Olympic torch to Paris this summer with Little Scholars! Our Little Olympians will explore the spirit of the Olympic Games through interactive games and theme- based projects. Join us in a gold medal winning summer experience.

    Rising 1st-6th Olympic Madness
    Go for the gold! Carry the Olympic torch to Olympic Madness Club where you will participate in individual competitions and team-based challenges for days of fun and games. Olympic Madness is for all those students who want to try new sports and take your physical abilities to a whole new level.

*Note: There is no camp on Wednesday, June 19 due to the university's observation of the Juneteenth holiday. There is no camp offered the week of July 1 in observation of Independence Day.

Before & After Care Information
  • Before Care: 8 a.m. - 9 a.m., M-F ($40/week per student)
  • Camp Session: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • After Care: 4 p.m. - 5:15 p.m., M-F ($45/week per student)

*Employee is responsible for the cost of before and after care. If you are enrolled in the Dependent Care FSA, you may be able to use your DCFSA funds to pay for before and after care!

Eligibility Information

  • Camps are free to full-time employees, but registration for each child is required.
  • Employees must use their own name and University email address for registration. Spouse name and/or personal email accounts cannot be processed.
  • Employee's eligible dependents must be verified and listed in the WEX Benefits Portal by Wednesday, February 21 in order to enroll in camps. Enrollment will not be processed without the required documentation.  
  • Registration is through the Little Scholars portal - URHR does not manage camp registration.
  • Employees do not need to be enrolled in a University medical plan to participate.
  • Enrollment in these programs does not use tuition remission credits.
  • Age/Grade Level
    • K: Rising Kindergarten (child must be enrolled to attend Kindergarten in Fall 2024)
    • 1-2: Rising 1st – rising 2nd grade
    • 3-4: Rising 3rd – rising 4th grade
    • 5-6: Rising 5th – rising 6th grade

Cancellation Fees

  • If your dependent is enrolled in a camp and will be unable to attend, you must notify Little Scholars as soon as possible to avoid being charged a cancellation fee.
  • No fee will be charged if you cancel a camp by Friday, April 26, 2024.
  • An administrative fee of $50 per child, per week will be charged if you cancel a camp after Friday, April 26. This fee will be deducted from the employee’s next paycheck.
  • If a participant's guardian does not provide cancellation notice prior to the start of a program and the child does not attend the program, a no-show fee of $100 per child per week will be deducted from the employee’s next paycheck. Exceptions will be made for a child’s illness only if a legitimate doctor’s note is provided.

This cancellation policy does NOT apply to Before and After Care.
