Basic Life Insurance/Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
Full-time employees are eligible for this benefit immediately. If you are not in active service on the date your insurance would otherwise be effective, it will be effective on your first day of active service.
The plan provides full-time employees with life insurance coverage worth two times their current base salary, rounded to the nearest $1,000, not to exceed a cap of $100,000.
Please note that coverage begins to decrease at age 65. For example, if an employee's benefit amount is at the maximum, $100,000, when an employee turns 65, coverage decreases to $65,000.

An accelerated death benefit (ADB) is also provided. The ADB allows an employee who is covered by the University's group life insurance policy to collect all or part of his or her life insurance benefit if he or she is diagnosed with a life expectancy of 12 months or less.
Paid for by the University.
